The “Unforgettable Series” at MorningStar of Boulder

As a top-rated senior living community specializing in caring for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related diseases, we continue to educate our staff as well as reach out to caregivers and families dealing with the disease.  One enlightening program we are hosting is the Unforgettable Series, a “Caring Conversation for Family & Friends of those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia”. 

The lecture series will be held at our community at 575 Tantra Dr., Boulder, on the second Tuesday of each month starting in May through October at 5:30 – 7:00PM.  By the time this blog is posted, our first session, Communication Strategies Part One, will have already taken place but we welcome you to join us for the other sessions.

The Unforgettable Series is led by Kelli Squire of About Time Senior Solutions.  Ms. Squire began About Time Senior Solutions in 2015 to help people navigate the various services and options available for their aging loved ones from managing a specific diagnosis or just providing advice on what to do next.  Educated at the Boston University Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research, she is also a Certified Trainer in Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care, which supports and engages people living with dementia and other brain changes.  Kelli also volunteers as a facilitator at the Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Café and co-facilitates Early Stage Support/Education classes. 

On June 12^th, the series focuses on Communication Strategies Part Two.  Understanding Changing Behaviors (Expressions) Part One and Part Two are on July 10^th and August 14^th. Next up the series will discuss Relationship Changes on September 11^th.  The last topic will be Thought Leaders in Dementia Care on October 9^th.
